Food additives, preservatives and color enhancers are the hidden cause of many allergic and asthmatic reactions in children. Packaged food companies seem to think that additives are necessary for enhanced appearance, flavor and longer shelf life, but this is simply not the case if you start with the right ingredients.
Flavorful, colorful, healthy and delicious seasoning mixes and prepared food are possible when going “all natural” — with tasty, nutritious, safe and healthful results.

Ebere reveals how to constitute your own spice blends in order to always achieve consistency in your cooking.
Ebere Akidiri, founder of Ataro Foods & Spices, is a professional chef and natural foods advocate who has dedicated her life to introducing the unique, delicious and healthy foods of West Africa to the rest of the world.
When she founded her own food company in The Hague, her commitment was to create flavorful food and spice blends with absolutely no artificial ingredients or food additives.
A mother of five, her commitment stems from having spent countless hours on hospital trips for asthma emergencies with her own children. Her turning point was reading Fed up with Asthma by Sue Dengate, which enlightened her to the fact that food additives were often the culprit in asthma. Once she began reading ingredients labels, the correlation between food additives and asthmatic reactions was unmistakable.

Two of the biggest culprits were sodium benzoate a common food preservative and tetrazine a bright yellow/orange food coloring. These additives showed up in many of her kids’ favorite foods, including the super-convenient and ever-popular instant noodles. Eliminating these and other additives from her children’s diets resulted in a dramatic improvement in their health.
With Ataro Foods, Ebere sought to create unique, delicious, convenient, easy-to-use and family-friendly mixes and spices that were also natural, wholesome, and free of chemicals, additives, E colours, MSG, flavor enhancers and GMO ingredients. The good news is that she succeeded — and you can now choose a variety of richly-flavored healthy foods that the whole family can enjoy. Offerings include cutom-mixed herb and spice packets (not too spicy!) rubs, soup mixes, sauces and packaged Jollof Rice mix, which is the signature dish of Ebere’s native Nigeria.
Not only do these foods not contain any harmful ingredients, but many of the herbs and spices have actual proven health benefits, such as ginger, garlic and turmeric, etc Any products that have possibly allergenic ingredients — such as Suya BBQ rub for chicken, meat, fish, and vegetables which contains peanuts for added flavor – are always clearly marked for safety.
